Greetings from the Counselor!

My name is Amy Gulden and I am proud to serve as our campus counselor.  This will be my 5th year in this role at the Primary School. 

We are off to a great start to the school year and I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about the services I provide on our campus.

Guidance lessons:  I visit classrooms monthly and provide lessons on character aligning with our CKH character trait of the month. I include some activities provided by Capturing Kids’ Hearts in my lessons.  If you have any questions about guidance lessons, please feel free to contact me.  We can review lessons and materials together. 

Individual counseling:  I provide one on one services on a brief basis to students when needed.  These services are only provided if you have given consent for health services by completing the consent form in Skyward.  I do not provide long term counseling but I can help you with resources if that is needed for your child. 

Small Groups:  I work with students in small groups of no more than five on various topics as needed.  Some of these topics might include but are not limited to family separation (divorce), grief, anxiety, self control, and anger management. Participation in a small group requires an additional parental consent. Materials used in small group activities are also available for your review upon request.  If you feel your child might benefit from participation in a small group, please contact me or your child’s teacher. 

Backpack Program:  I coordinate the backpack food program on our campus.  The backpack program provides food for children over the weekend.  If you are in need of this service, please contact me. 

My job is to facilitate the mental health and well-being of all of our students. If I can be of assistance to you as it pertains to your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I maintain strict confidentiality so long as safety is not a concern.
